NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The highest grossing theaters in Manhattan, which in turn are the highest grossing theaters in the country, are booking what appears to be the little-Indy-film-that-could EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE ITALIAN. Both AMC’s Empire 25 Theater and Regal’s Union Square Stadium 14 Theater have confirmed booking the movie starting September 5^th, believing in the film’s playability to audiences looking to have a laugh before the usual heavier fall fare.

Written and directed by Jason Todd Ipson (UNREST) and starring Jay Jablonski (UNREST, KIDS IN AMERICA) and Cerina Vincent (CABIN FEVER, Two and a Half Men), ITALIAN is a warm-hearted, romantic comedy involving mistaken ethnicities against the backdrop of Italian life in Little Italy. Jake’s (Jablonski) friends are tired of him futilely chasing the same woman for nearly a decade and set him up on a blind date with a beautiful Italian woman (Vincent) from Boston’s North End. Worried that such a woman would never even consider dating a non-Italian, they offer him a quick crash course in how to fake it in the hope that it will prove just the trick to help him learn to love once again. The film, being seen as this year’s MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING, has received special attention in the season of the CG summer blockbusters. Roadside Attractions is distributing the Asgaard Entertainment picture.

This little-Indy-film-that-could might be the answer to a smart person’s comedy and one that doesn’t need a big name to become the sleeper hit of the season. Also, look out for the surprise cameo made by the rarely seen, and always funny, Penny Marshall.

Little did we know at the time of the alleged assault. Rewind to Sunday night about 9:00, the kids and I are watching the Olympics and we hear a lot of sirens speeding up into our neighborhood, not a big deal just yet…

About 30 minutes later more sirens race around, the kids wonder what the heck is going on, we look outside and see police cars at an intersection leading into our neighborhood. Next move, my 9 year old son and I jump into our rented VW bug and go do some “iTeam” investigating, we see a Sheriff car with a gentleman on the curb asking quesitons, we figure nothing big, not so fast. As we get back into our drive way my neighbor is lurking in our bush’s and calls my attention, he says, “look at that truck right there, looks like it rolled in real quick and shut off their lights, we haven’t seen anyone come out yet. That is odd, within 5 minutes we see the “ghetto bird” helicopter arrives overhead to help in any search efforts that may be needed. We than see more sheriff cars speed by, my neighbor convinces me to go find a cop and tell him about the suspicious truck, I say, “ok”, drive up the street where I see a big spotlight coming from a cruiser, as I approach the sheriff, I tell him about the truck, he says, “Nope, we are looking for a murder suspect, looking for a burgundy Jaquar, Middle Eastern man has sliced some woman up really good in your neighborhood. If you see him in the car or on foot, let me know.” What are you kidding me a murder suspect running around our neighborhood at 10:00 PM on a Friday night? I go back and tell the neighbor and our wives..little activity the rest of the night…awake Monday AM, and the hood chatter is all about the activities from the previous night as details start to come out.

We know the story the rest of the way, as I have said to others, I am sad for the woman and her family but I am in a weird way thankful that this wasn’t just a random act of violence, people just go O.J. crazy sometimes.

In classic 9 year old fashion, my son said, “Dad why did he do that to the woman?” I replied, “I don’t know, sometimes people just “snap” and they lose it!” He replied back, “That is the exact reason why I am not getting Married!”

I have to say, he has a point there….

Going into Tuesday morning we don’t know a whole lot more about the situation in Cheeseville. What we know if that Brett Favre will show up at camp on Tuesday as a Packer and compete for the job that he owns. He will be the opening day quarterback either on the Packers or against them for the Minnesota Vikings.

If the Packers are smart they will keep him for another year, roll the dice what do you have to lose? Aaron Rogers? He will be there or not? Aaron Rogers is a good quarterback, Brett Favre is a HOF quarterback for one of the most historic franchises in the NFL, it is his job and should be his job as long as he wants it.

Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio said it best this morning on his show The Herd, he said Favre is an elite quarterback, if you knew you could have an 8-8 season with Favre or send him home and go 8-8 with Rogers? You would be crazy to go there with Rogers, put it all on Brett ,save your job, it is a no brainer. The Sticky Truth is that, it is a mess in Green Bay, but hell, it is only Football, a game, and in 4 weeks all we will be talking about is how great it is to see old #4 back on the field in Green Bay. That’s the Truth, as far as I can see it.

For my buck.. the best Romantic Comedy of 2008 will be the Roadside Attractions/Asgaard Entertainment film, Everybody Wants To Be Italian.
